The December meeting/Banquet/Silent Auction was a success! We collected $100 to donate to the Houston Area Women's Center and made over $500 in the silent auction to pay for the scholarship to be given to a student studying to be a counselor. Thanks to HCA member Wanda Hobbs for donating her time to present "Adjusting to Change in the New Millennium", and plenty of laughs. Thanks to all of the HCA members for making the evening so memorable - Judy Balch for making all of the arrangements (all the way from LaGrange, Texas), Sharon Takahashi for receiving and organizing the reservations, Pati Mengden-Eckhardt for organizing the silent auction, Yolanda Lewis and her friend, Jo for the winter wonderland decorations, lights and all, and Marilyn Balke-Lowry and Patty Gravett for providing the door prizes.
